Today we learn the fate of Union Black, a controversial figure in the heroic world, on trial for murder and a host of other crimes. For the past twelve months he has been on trial for murder and the jury have had twenty days to deliberate having also been told that an outcome be delivered else Black risks going before a military trial which could deliver a far more terrifying punishment.
As the court house prepares for one of the biggest days in its history the crowds gather, with no less than three marches planned to go through the capital today its bound to be a busy day for the Metropolitan police. The far left group 'RIGHTS FOR ALL' have a march of thousands prepared, gathering to demonstrate against superhuman violence against the citizens of this country and the world. They argue that with the activation of capes comes the inevitable upgrading of weapons on the criminals side and feel that people like Black literally get away with murder.
Two other groups march today, one a small but inflammatory rabble that protest against Black and his actions in the past, they are heavily affiliated with the Pro N.M.A and with the far right who have always hated Union Black for his less than cuddly approach to dealing with their members and the N.MA in general.
Finally The United British Front have banded together to support Black claiming that without him and the other heroes from the New Crusaders the country would still be in New Model Army hands. Though this couldn't be argued they also believe that Black should be given a license to kill and that other vigilantes should be given the same powers to arrest, detain and then execute if they have sufficient evidence and the crime is serious enough.
The police have promised a massive presence on the streets, calling in back up from the whole country, leaving particularly the south east very short of hands, on top of that MI13 has had to suspend operations for the day so that they can be on hand to help in the capital of trouble starts.
Experts are spilt on the decision of the trial, some claim Union Black will have to be found not guilty due to the actions being taken in the line of duty and in the greater protection of the country, others claim that to clear him would invite a bloodbath on the streets and that he was never given the power to take life or torture and that he must serve time to reflect the seriousness of the crimes.
While camps are divided it seems unlikely that Black will be serve a massive sentence having already been in custody for a year and given the weight of the heroic actions he has taken in defence of the country in the past.
