MI13 Assaulted!

MI13 held a press conference today to address the rumours concerning the attack that took place on the instalation last night. Acting head of MI13 Joseph Chapman, an ex-Union Jack himself addressed the journalist's, photographers and public in a slick and well prepared statement and question and answer session.
'Thank you for coming here today, I'm here to confirm that MI13 was breached yesterday and that as a result of that breach over twenty of our on base security officers were killed,' he began, his face looking strained. 'In the battle Director of MI13 Peter Wisdom was shot and wounded while protecting the Infermary from the insurgents who we have identified as the Mutant assainsin group The Marauders. Mr Wisdom is in a stable condition and recieving the best possible care while remaining within the secure corden of the MI13 base. As of today i am taking full control of MI13 until Mr Wisdom is recovered enough to reassume his duties.
Though we suffered a serious loss of life we do not believe their target was the base personel but instead the interdimensional gateway equipment which was severely damaged in the assault. Yet obviously we cannot play down the impact this attack will have on our future security and operations on the base. The equipment is already being replaced, security has been upgraded and we are confident that any attack undertaken in future will be met with a more robust and effective response.
I would like to send my condolances to the families of the men and women who lost their lives defending this instalation and their comrades in the face of a brutal and evil enemy. They will not be forgotten and their bravery will spur us on to try harder to make this country a safer place for all.'
With the prepared statement read Chapman took questions from the floor.
Verity Luce: 'Do you believe this attack was aimed at the Interdimensional aspect of your work or on MI13's status as the established Super Human Deterant in Britain?'
Chapman: 'I think its clear this was an assault on MI13, its direct target was the gate, but i wouldn't say this was an attack provoked by the gates use. These people work for someone, we will find out who and why in as quick a time as possible and then respond appropriatly.'
