The Warning signs are gathering like dark clouds full of piss over the forthcoming 'Green Lantern' movie with the announcement that new members are being hired for the film just four months before its release. Both Geoffry Rush, 'The Kings Speach' and 'Shine,' and Michael Duncan Clarke, 'The Green Mile' and 'Armaggedon,' are being picked up by the studio to add their voice talents to some of the other lanterns in the film, but the lateness of their appointments along with the knowledge that Reynolds himself will be clad in a C.G.I costume that looks ropey at best in the trailers brings serious doubts about the excellence of the film and this has obviously been picked up by D.C who sent the director of the forthcoming superman movie out to fight the good fight.
Snyder, widely respected for his excellent efforts so far on The Watchmen, 300 and Dawn of the Dead was quick to big up his coming project despite putting a wet looking dork behind the biggest 'S' in comics. 'Superman is a real Icon, Thor has his own movie, like come on?' Well Mr Snyder Thor seems to be running up quite the excitement and is a Biopic rather than a ridiculous tale about a man with his pants on the outside flying around like two hundred and twenty pounds of middle American propaganda. The only thing that would make him more of a danger to children would be if he owned an ice cream van and taught P.E.
This follows this weeks announcement that the Batman films will be rebooted when Chris Nolan finishes 'Dark Knight Rising,' though even the appointment of Nolan as lord of all D.C universe projects is sending chills of fear down this reporters spine when we hear Snyder gushing that Nolan and Goyers script has tackled Superman making him 'modern' and 'Relevant.' Whats relevant about a fictitious pedo zooming around the planet, his only mission being to make everywhere like America?
Maybe these are just the finishing touches to a masterpiece, but its looking more like Marvel studios will be kicking D.C to death once more this year as they have with one exception, Nolans 'Dark Knight' simply has enough fight at present to beat all comers. His next incarnation is bound to be a 'departure' from Nolan's amazing vision; meaning it will be shitter.
